Peace meetings aimed at reconciling communities living in Roox, Mudug region, have successfully concluded, following a process that took place from 29 January to 26 May in Galkayo.
Traditional elders led the efforts, working in coordination with the Puntland Ministry of Interior, while PSA Somalia facilitated the process with support from Somalia Stability Fund
Neutral mediation committees were convened to lead the resolution process, sitting with both sides to resolve the dispute and reaching decisions grounded in Somali customary law and Islamic Sharia. These decisions were welcomed and accepted by both sides, reinforcing trust in locally driven conflict resolution mechanisms.
