Puntland Youth and Social Development Association (PSA) is pleased to announce the official Call for Submissions for the Puntland Peace Competition for Media and Literature.
The competition seeks to recognize and celebrate the important role of creative expression in advancing peace, reconciliation, and social cohesion across Puntland. PSA invites poets, artists, filmmakers, journalists, and media content creators to submit original works focused on peacebuilding.
Competition Categories
1. Peace Videos
Short films, documentaries, or creative videos that communicate messages about peace, conflict resolution, social cohesion, or community resilience.
2. Peace Poetry
Original Somali poetry, including Gabay, Buraanbur, and Geeraar, reflecting themes of unity, forgiveness, and hope. Entries may be submitted as audio or video recordings.
Submission Requirements
Eligibility
The competition is open to residents of the Mudug region and the communities of Sheerbi. Youth, women, and people from underserved communities are particularly encouraged to apply.
Theme
All entries must focus on peacebuilding, community reconciliation, nonviolence, or cultural unity.
Required Information
Each submission must include:
- The creator’s full name
- Age and district of origin
- Contact details, including a telephone number and email address
- The title of the work and a brief description of no more than 200 words

- Second Place: $400
- Third Place: $300
